April 3, 2017 update notes for Visio by DPTPB stencil collection.

Executive Summary

• All DPTPB NetApp Cluster Interconnect switch shapes have been updated, using the same design as recently upgraded 10GbE and 1GbE switches. More info on design changes for switch shapes can be found in my blog post: Visio by DPTPB: Update Notes for All Switch stencils.

 

NetApp CN1610

• 16-port 10GbE switch by NetApp
• Only allowed usage is as Cluster Interconnect Switch
• Pre-cabled with four ISL cables, 12 ports free
• Original switch shape by NetApp
•  Variants:
  • Rack 2×4
  • Rack 12d
  • Mid 2×4
  • Mid 12d

Switch Properties:

• Click shape to show data in Shape Data Window
  • Switch Number
  • Site Name for Switch (typically only used with MetroCluster)
  • Switch Name Body
  • Port assignments
  • Edit as required and device label and port assignments will change accordingly

Cisco Nexus 5596

• 2U 48-port 10GbE switch by Cisco
• Used in larger NetApp clusters where more than 12 node ports are required
• Original switch shape by Cisco
• Variants
  • Mid 12d
  • Rack 12d

Switch Properties:

  • Switch Number
  • Site Name for Switch (typically only used with MetroCluster)
  • Switch Name Body
  • Port assignments
